Kantha animal print cotton throw
Originating from South Asia, Kanthas were originally made from old, recycled fabrics, the traditional kantha cloth is an example of 'flat', or unwadded quilting, worked on multiple layers of fabric. (credit V&A)
This one is made from two layers of black cotton with an animal print of zebras, leopards and tropical birds in mainly rusts and greens on one side. The stitching which is both decorative and functional, is in black and white.
Ideal for use on a bed or sofa, it measures 265 × 210 cm.
