Vintage French 'Fleur Bleue' linen sheet
An unused French linen sheet from the ‘Fleur Bleue’ brand name. It comes complete with the original size label and is quite an unusual find as sheets from this company are usually linen and cotton, or ‘metis’ in France, rather than pure linen. It is in its natural creamy colour which will lighten quite quickly as it is used and washed. The chunky blue embroidery detail, centre top, is very evocative of the Art Deco era.
At 240 x 325 cm it is slightly bigger than a standard UK double sheet so would also be fine for a king size bed.
Pure linen, as stamped.
Clearly unused and undamaged, this sheet does have grubby marks consistent with being stored for a long time which will wash out. We haven’t laundered it because we liked the authenticity of the original labels etc but there are two unidentified marks of 0.5 cm diameter and the other one even smaller which may or may not wash out. They are pictured below.
